School Reopening Protocols

March 1, 2021 by webmaster

The procedures and protocols in these documents are intended to help protect students, families, faculty, and staff slow the spread of COVID-19 and its variants. The documents were created in accordance with the CDC’s Considerations for Schools: Operating Schools During COVID-19. These considerations are meant to supplement, not replace any state or local laws which the school must adhere to.

The Department of Catholic Schools has also issued guidelines outlining ways to modify our school environment and procedures to meet the directives set forth by state and local officials. We have made the necessary adjustments at our school site in accordance with these guidelines, in order to safely return to on-campus instruction. We are currently planning a gradual reopening for grades TK through 5th and are awaiting approval from county officials.

A hybrid model of in-person and remote learning, two days a week will be used for the remainder of this school year.Families were sent a reopening survey to gauge their preference for return to in-person or distance learning. Families who chose for a return to in-person will be divided between two cohorts: Cohort 1 (Monday/Tuesday in-person) and Cohort 2 (Thursday/Friday in-person). Wednesday classes will remain virtual for all students.

We also understand this virus is ever-evolving and safety requirements change often. We will continue to monitor and make necessary adjustments for the safety and well-being of our school community.

These are the procedures and protocols we will abide by to ensure that we provide a safe environment for students, staff, and families, and reduce the potential spread of the virus.
